In addition to all of these partners that have come into our school, our students have partnered with the community by understanding that they can make a physical impact on the their environments. Children in the lunch room are teaching each-other about how to make less waste by using their organic trash to make new soil in our composted. "Can I bring you some vegetables rotting in my fridge?" "SURE, as long as you tell her about what composting is. Maybe you can start one of your own!" These are the types of conversations we are hearing more of and proud of it. A huge change with a sting momentum.
A highlight of the year takes place after our Earth Day event in which our families and community members are invited to. Getting families involved each year has brought more momentum and community partnering to our Green cause. Each year we have noticed an increase in parent involvement making our students' choice in stewardship of our surrounding environment more supported, but also more seen in the East Baltimore community.
